The Humane Society will be hosting an adoption event on Friday (December 23rd) and also on Sunday (New Year's Day) from 1-4pm. So if you are looking for that purrrfect companion to add to your family or, if Santa forgot to bring it Christmas Day ... come and see us. We're located at 107 High Street ... heck, there might even be some left over cookies to indulge in.

SPAGHETTI & MEAT BALL DINNER

NOVEMBER 18, 2011.   The Franklin County Humane Society will be hosting a Spaghetti & Meat Ball Dinner in conjunction with Main Street After Hours on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Eagles Club Room.  Located at 770 Main Street in Brookville, dinner will be served from 5pm until IT'S GONE!!!!   Dinner includes drink, salad and dessert!

November ~ Spay and Neuter ~

The monthly transport for the Spay/Neuter transport to the PetsAlive Clinic is scheduled for Tuesday November 29, 2011.  Please call 765-647-1444 for more information or to pre-register come by the office at 107 High Street in Brookville, Indiana during the following times:

Mondays:  11am - 2pm
Tuesdays:  11am - 2pm
Fridays:  11am-2pm

Special Weekend hours:  Saturday and Sunday (11/19 & 11/20) between the hours of 11am - 2pm.

PLEASE REMEMBER:  If you have multiple cats ... we also have access to a low cost clinic in Richmond.  Special discounts for 5+ cats.

National Shelter Appreciation Week!!!

The week of November 6th is National Shelter Appreciation Week!  Please show your appreciation and ADOPT a shelter animal.

NOVEMBER ~ ADOPT A SENIOR PET MONTH

Yes, November is a special month where we are attempting to find loving homes for some of our senior pets.  Please review our list of animals and if you are interested in a particular "senior" pet (five years old or older), talk to us and we can will do what we can to make life easier for both you and the senior pet.  THANK YOU!

OCTOBER IS ADOPT A SHELTER DOG MONTH

Please do your part to save a life .... Adopt and/or Foster a dog from the pound.  The pound is at capacity and you will be truly saving the life of a wonderful companion. 

PET PARADE ~ OCTOBER 21, 2011

HEY ONE AND ALL!!  Once again the FC Humane Society will be hosting the Pet Parade which is part of the Main Street After 5 Event on Friday, October 21st.   Entry fee is a donation to the Franklin County Humane Society. 

Grab a registration form from the Humane Society Building located at 107 High Street OR, the new Chamber Office located at 813 Main Street OR, at one of the local banking facilities OR, at the main office of schools around town OR, click on the link below to download.  This parade is FUN for the humans and for their companion pets!!!

Registration will be between 5:30 - 6pm.  Judging starts at 6pm and when finished ~ the parade will proceed down the side walks of main street!!!

YOUTH GROUP CAR WASH

Come support the Youth Group members of the Franklin County Humane Society in their fund raiser for the organization.  They will be at Brookville IGA located at 10053 US Hwy 52, Brookville, IN 47012.  Hours are 12:30pm to 3:00pm.

Saturday, September 17th from 11:00am to 2:00pm.  There will be puppies, poodles and kittens at the Franklin County Humane Society building located at 107 High Street, Brookville, Indiana.  Please come and find your new family companion!

DOG OBEDIENCE CLASS

A basic dog Obedience Class will be scheduled Thursday, September 15, 2011 and will run for seven weeks through Thursday, October 29, 2011.  The cost for the seven week class is $75.  Please come to the Franklin County Humane Society location (107 High Street, Brookville, Indiana) to register and begin your training (bring your dog too) on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 7pm. 

VACCINATION CLINIC

The Franklin County Humane Society will be hosting a Vaccination Clinic for companion pets on OCTOBER 1, 2011 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.  Please come to see us at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.  It would be appreciated that all dogs be on leashes and all cats be in crate.

Spay/Neuter Prices for 2011

The Franklin County Humane Society has access to low cost Spay and Neuter services for companion pets as follows (includes a Rabies Shot:) Dogs $70; Cats $50. Since the Rabies vaccine is required by State Law, proof of the Rabies Certificate (not the actual tag) will be needed if the vaccination is current within the past year in order for the cost of the Rabies Shot to be waived. Contact us for other low cost options to spay or neuter your pet. Financial assistance is offered to residents of Franklin County Indiana who meet certain financial requirements.

Upcoming "Meet & Greet"

Mark your calendars for our upcoming PETCO "Meet & Greet" on Saturday, July 16th. We will be meeting at PETCO in Indianapolis (7565 U.S. 31 South) from 11:30-3:00. Come and meet dogs including: MILLIE, PUGSLY & LIBBY.

If you are interested in meeting a particular posted animal; please send us an email request for an adoption application. We will do our best to arrange transport with a completed and approved application for this animal on our regular adoption promotion/meeting day or other convenient time and location for the volunteer and applicant.

Have you seen a pet that you want more information about? To inquire about any of the animals posted for adoption, please contact us via email or fill out an adoption application. This valuable tool assists us in matching the right animal to the right home. Once received, reviewed and approved, we will contact you to arrange a getting-to-know-you visit of the animal you are inquiring about or suggest an alternate within our network that may be better suited to your family and lifestyle.


The Adoption Donation for puppies and dogs is $125.00 Adoption Donation for kittens and cats is $80.00; $100.00 if declawed. Some dogs/cats may require a higher adoption donation. Details will be noted on the animal's bio page.

If you can't adopt, please consider sponsoring one or more of the animals to help cover their expenses while waiting on their forever home. Please send an e-mail to the address on the animal's bio page to find out how to do this.

Please be aware and understand that completing an application does not guarantee that you have been or will be approved for adoption. Meetings are not scheduled until we have received and reviewed an adoption application.

Telephone calls from volunteers to discuss the pet you have inquired about and submitted an application for are usually made during evening/family hours and per the availabilty of volunteer time. Email inquiries are monitored and replied to on a daily basis.

All animals prior to home placement, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, and heartworm tested, if age appropriate. Our adoption contract is a binding and legal document. All terms are specified within the contract.
